Cherry Salad with Cherry Dressing

 A bowl of cherry salad

Summer brings many beautiful and juicy fruits. Cherries are some of the first summer fruits, and they are packed with benefits. Did you know that the riper the cherry, the better it is? As cherries darken, they produce more antioxidants. Sweet cherries are loaded with potassium, a natural blood-pressure reducer. One cup of cherries packs roughly the same amount of potassium as a small banana. Cherries are also rich in beta carotene, vitamin C, anthocyanins and quercetin, which may work together synergistically to fight cancer. Cherries are only around the beginning of summer, so enjoy them while you can.
