There is a good amount of healthy benefits in coleslaw, especially when there is no sugar involved. Most coleslaw recipes I found had sugar in it, but I am cutting down my sugar intake as much as I can, maybe even eliminate it from my life completely. There are other healthier alternatives to satisfy a sweet tooth, for example honey or maple syrup. I played around with ingredients and came up with this simple coleslaw recipe that still gives the sweet and tangy taste.
Easy Coleslaw Recipe
- 1 head green cabbage, shredded
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 cup mayonnaise (avocado mayonnaise if you want dairy free)
- 3 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 3 Tablespoons honey
- a small pinch of salt
- fresh dill (optional)
- Combine all ingredients together.
